Since 1997, Jimmy’s has been Aspen’s neighborhood restaurant and bar, the kind of comfortable restaurant where you can dine again and again. Ask any local, and you will hear that Jimmy’s is an “Aspen Institution.” The menu has something for everyone, from the fresh-squeezed margaritas and the “locally-priced” bar menu to the famous crab cakes, USDA prime steaks, and fresh fish.

The name is an ode to silver, the 47th element. This is the epitome of a classic luxury hotel bar with sophisticated lighting, plush seating, dark wood, and an elegant wine list. Or, visit Chair 9, one of the best après-ski lounges in the country, Chair 9 conveniently opens as the lifts are closing. Treat yourself and your family after a long day on the mountain. Eric’s is just one of the four hotspots in one complex, which includes the Cigar Bar, Su Casa, and Aspen Billiards. It’s not unusual for an Aspen evening to end here—or if you start here, you may never leave. Begin a night out at Su Casa, a Taqueria and Tequila Bar, before moving on to the custom cedar humidor at the Cigar Bar and enjoying sipping top-shelf liquors with your new favorite cigar. Move on to Eric’s for some small-batch bourbon, single-malt scotch, or one of the 14 beers on tap.

Named after the drug czar, Pablo Escobar, this nightclub makes its home in an underground airplane fuselage. The interior is just as unique—if you can get past the red rope that is. Curved ceilings, reflective walls, and amber lights over the bar throw off your sense of space, in a good way. Here, the crowd is young and hip.

HOPS Culture is an exciting new craft-beer focused restaurant-bar on Aspen’s vibrant Hyman Mall. HOPS Culture features 200 domestic and imported craft beers, 15 world-class wines by the glass, and an upscale American comfort food menu focused on grilled cheese sandwiches, mac n’ cheeses, gourmet salads and hearty soups. Aspen’s iconic J-Bar (short for “Jerome Bar”) remains the town’s social hot spot, with its lively yet casual atmosphere. Ski bums, socialites, cowboys and luminaries – from members of the Tenth Mountain Division to the late Hunter S.Thompson – gather at this authentic bar for a hint of the Old West. Sit down, relax and enjoy a beer, vintage-inspired cocktail and light dining fare at the best bar in Aspen.

Whether slope-side or poolside in Snowmass, Nest Public House serves up a pub-inspired menu, bursting with dining options which are designed to nourish and refresh. To complete the pub experience is a Colorado tradition of craft style lagers, ales and stouts, as hand crafted as the food and just as delicious in their own right. Nest Public House adds up to the hottest summer indoor/outdoor Snowmass restaurant scene where the service and ambiance are what we fondly refer to as “mountain relaxed”.

Savor authentic Mexican cooking served alongside 75 Tequilas and mezcals. Warming fire pits welcome guests onto the outdoor patio, where panoramic mountain views round out the experience.

A casual tavern and eatery, famous for being frequented by the late Hunter S. Thompson. No establishment is more associated with the late local legend. Fans learned the “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” author would hang out here, leading Thompson to call the bar to keep it open late for him and him alone. Today you will still find many nods to the gonzo journalist in the photos and posters plastering the walls, but the connection is not the only reason to come. The Mexican food one of the best in the valley. The tamales have attained near mythic status, and the strong, blue agave margaritas are the best in the Aspen area.
